We find ourselves in a time of constant change. We’re at home doing things we never imagined we’d have to do. We’re adjusting to changes in our family life. We’re juggling working from home, online classes, etc. We’ve had to learn to adapt to an entirely different routine, but as the word of God says, “we know that God causes everything to work together for the good of those who love God and are called according to his purpose for them” (Romans 8:28 NLT). Things are different and difficult during this time, but we can trust God to bring good out of them.
So while we’re in a time of social distancing and being at home, God wants to do new things in you, and I want to give you the eagle as an example. The Bible says:
“Even youths will become weak and tired, and young men will fall in exhaustion. But those who trust in the Lord will find new strength. They will soar high on wings like eagles. They will run and not grow weary. They will walk and not faint.” Isaiah 40:30-31
We know that young people have strength and energy, but even they get tired and weary, and yet, the Bible says that those who trust in God will not grow weary. It doesn’t matter how old we are; when we trust in the Lord, we will find new strength. The Bible uses the eagle as a metaphor for this:
“He fills my life with good things. My youth is renewed like the eagle’s!” Psalm 103:5
It’s no coincidence that you’re at home during this time. God wants to transform you and work in your life so that He can renew your vision, strength, and purpose. Let the Holy Spirit overflow in your life; let Him lead you to the new heights that God has for you.
